WINTER SURF SUMMARY 2005

N.S.W FAR NORTH COAST

Hello all!

Winter 2005 will be remembered for it’s mixed bag of tricks. If you were else where in Australia or in another part of the world early winter, you missed one of the biggest down pours of rain in recorded history on the N.S.W Far North Coast. A few of the crew from Brunswick went to go for a surf the day after the floods had peaked, only to be stopped by tonnes of floating debris that had been spat out of the Brunswick River. “I was keen to get out there, good size , offshore and barreling but it was to dangerous. We were standing there watching these massive logs getting dumped on the sand bank. I’m talking gum trees mate.” Brunswick local.

But besides floating trees, the Shire has had some nice winter swell matched with quality sand bank formation & perfect sunny weather. Late July, early August lacked swell size but a fairly consistent swell pattern for most of August. If you went sniffing for waves, they were there to be enjoyed. Tune in for our Spring update in late November.

Regards to all!
Ben
