The peace and quiet of a hide-away
This place, our shire's largest residential community,
is a good step back from the business of Byron Bay. Here
the landform begins to rise towards the foothills which
lead to Broken Head Nature Reserve and the rolling hills
inland. This beautifully planted out area has a caravan
park and community centre building that hug the foreshore.
Here you will find the main access trail to the beach. Its
healthy dunal system is carefully tended by locals and the
extra wide open beaches stretch north to Cape Byron and
south towards the closer Broken Headland rock formations.
Residential areas are mature in their vegetation and show
a consciousness of indigenous species. There is a bike trail
into the Bay from the end of Alcorn Street. The village
centre is personal, friendly and comfortable to browse or
shop within.

A giant foreshore
dune system
Here the land begins its incline into the
foothills that lead into the Broken Head Nature Reserve.
The council's beachside caravan park has beautifully shaded
sections with good facilities. Just on the other side of
a giant foreshore dune system is the wide open beach that
stretches north to the cape and south to the rock formations
of Broken Head.

Byron's annual Hobie
Cat Regatta, on a perfect south east breezy day. Sailors
come from all over to add their colours to the Bay.

And watch the world go by...
Suffolk Park enjoys close proximity to all the action of
the Bay, yet retains the peace and quiet of a secluded holiday
hide-away whose residents proudly maintain their own unique
sense of local identity. Scenes of happy shoppers, children,
mums and skateboard riders keep the village abuzz. Tables
in the courtyard provide the best place to enjoy a burger
and watch the world go by, while you make the tough choice
between Golf, Fishing, Surfing, Horseback Riding, Swimming
or just doing nothing. Suffolk Park has many strong and
active citizen's groups that are working to keep this beautiful
spot green, clean and prosperous.
