Here resides the headquarters of our shire, appropriately
in our new millennium styled space ship Council Chambers.
"Mullum" is Byron's heart and keeper of the fire. It has carefully
retained the classic country calmness and pace so appreciated
by locals & visitors alike.
It is also the home of our only independent newspaper, The
Echo. A great place for a family picnic can be found at Riverside
Park, overlooking the picturesque Brunswick River. Drive towards
the twin peaks of Mt. Chincogan, just a short twenty-minute
trip northwest of Byron Bay
