That personal flavour...
Last year Bangalow's main street, (Byron St.,) served as
a perfect inclination and surface for its 1st. annual Billy
Cart Derby. The earth shaking rumble of the big semis that
used to file through its main street (when it was a piece
of the Pacific Highway) were replaced with crowds of people
cheering the young and old kids attaining speeds of over 20
kilometers in much lighter vehicles.
People
now dominate the pace of the town again...
This community has come closer together
from good planning for this transition and people now dominate
the pace of the town again.

Fun for young and old at the 1st
Annual Bangalow Billycart Derby. City folk will love Bangalow's
old world charm, even pace and smiling faces.
You can great deals at large regional shopping
centres, but it's not the same experience as shopping and
doing your affairs in Bangalow. Here, there are no anxiously
waiting lines in the bank and good old fashioned, friendly
service is strong with that personal flavour.
The old crossroads of Bangalow is a strong
place, a pioneering town which has seen many boom times come
and go. In earlier days it was the centre for the milk runs
which serviced the surrounding dairy farms and where on Saturday
nights they would have impromptu horse races down the main
street. Now this personality of community life style returns
in the form of its monthly market and its ongoing traditional
building facelifts. Bangalow's theme of old world charm is
naturally taken up by local businesses and residents. Here
the indigenous (Bangalow) palm has appropriately become its
icon and prospers... Be sure not to pass Bangalow by.
