Byron Bay Holiday Guide Archives :. Poli-bloody-tics

by Mungo MacCallum

Polynomial polyhedrons all have polygons to boot
While polyanthus pollinates and polymers pollute
And when the polysyllables get ather too prolix
It all comes down to polling day and poli-tics.
Polymaths use polyesters, also polyurethane
Polygamists face polygraphs, policemen on the brain
There's polylingual polyglots in polytechnics
But policies still polarise with poli-tics.
There's polliwogs and polyps in the Polynesian seas
And poliomyelitis is a polyphase disease
While polyandrous pollsters look for polymorphous pricks
The polecats still all polka on to poli-tics.
There's pollywaffles neatly wrapped in polypropylene
And pretty Polly Perkins from the Paddington Green
There's polly wants a cracker and there's polly needs a fix
But all a real pollie gets is poli-bloody-tics.

From Mungo, the man who laughs. Duffy & Snellgrove 2001
