Well we had a cracker of a day for the derby.
I think Bayweb is going to have to enter next year. It seems evey man and his dog slapped together some prettied up shopping trolley and got in on the action.
There was one rig getting around that I think was questionable. Then again, what constitutes a billy cart? When is a billy cart just a tricked out bike?
We forgot to take our camera so if anyone has any photo's they'd like to share we'd love to stick them on Bayweb. Just email them to info@bayweb.com.au - remember to give us your name too so we can credit you.
I did some hunting on the net and found this : | Quote: | A child’s four-wheeled go-cart. Billy comes from billy goat. In the past the term applied to a small cart, often two-wheeled, that was pulled by a goat. These billycarts were used for such purposes as home deliveries, and they were also used in races. The term was then applied to any homemade go-cart. First recorded 1923.

You may want to enter the "Red Bull Billy Cart Grand Prix" on the 28th of November 2004 in Melbourne. http://www.redbullbillycartgp.com.au/

If bayweb puts in a cart BUSH will too. This year's event will be a cracker.
The date is already set for Sunday May 15th.
It will be presented by the Bangalow Rugby Club again this year. Rumour has it that there will be some more attractions this year too....
More to come. _________________ www.bushmarketing.com |
