Eureka Public School is 25 kilometres west of Byron Bay and an
equal distance from Lismore. The school serves the Eureka and Federal
communities and currently has an enrolement of 99 students.
Students enjoy a well rescourced school offering a variety of educational
and cultural events. The school has a rural seting bordered by rainforest
and community recreation space and enjoys the support of active
and involved parents.
The school's stated aim is to offer quality learning experiences
and opportunity, allowing students to access and realise their potential.
Eureka is a place where all children can learn and experience success,
develop co-operation, and tolerance, to become self confident, self
reliant and responsible for their own actions and learning. The
school responds to community expectations seeking to ensure all
students participate in comprehansive educational experiences and
by providing a planned program of cultural experiences.
-Class Organisation
Classes in the school will be organised so as to maximise the educational
outcomes for all students.
Class organisation may vary from year to year depending on such
external factors as staffing allocation, physical rescources and
student enrolement figures.
-Kindergarten Enrolements
Children may enrol at school once attaining 4 years and 6 months
of age, providing the student turns 5 years of age before 1st August.
-Reporting to Parents
Parent/ teacher interviews are conducted at the end of Semester
1 each year, reporting on student progress.
Formal reports are provided at the end of each school year.
Parents are welcome to discuss their child' progress at any time
by making an appointment with the classroom teacher. Your child's
teacher will appreciate recieving information about your child's
health or any other matter that may affect student learning.
-Concert
Students participate in the annual concert performance, conducted
during Term 3. An end of year presentation night is arranged in
Term 4.
-Bus
Free transport is available to students in Kindergarten, Year 1
and 2, irrespective of distance. Other students who live 1.6 km
or further from the school may also apply.
Please give your child a note for the bus driver if your schild
is to be set down other than at the normal stop.
-Sun Protection
Students are encouraged to wear an appropriate hat, preferably
the Eureka School broad brimmed hat or legionnaires cap.
Students who do not wear a hat in the playground are directed to
a sun protected area. |
